John Croft - Public Relations Officer

• The Public Relations Officer is responsible for the image of the association as presented to the public and other associated organisations.
• The Public Relations Officer is responsible for promoting the association with member and non-member choirs.
• Personal Biography
• John is a Chartered Chemical Engineer having been educated at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
• After working for 11 years in the chemical industry at Teesside, John moved into the process automation business, joining Kent Process Control as a Systems Engineer. This company was later taken over by the multi-national giant ABB.
• John held many positions in ABB culminating in becoming a Consultant Engineer for applications in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. He travelled regularly throughout the world in his 31 year career with ABB, and was intimately involved in the development of the automation schemes for the manufacture of many pharmaceuticals, including the infamous Viagra.
• John officially retired at the end of 2010 but continues his consultancy work on a part time basis.
• Musically John started his singing career with the Apollo Male Voice Choir whilst living in Teesside. After moving ‘South’ to Bedfordshire he joined the Vauxhall MVC before getting together with eight others to found the Luton MVC in 1993. John has been their Chairman ever since.
• John is married with one daughter and is now settling down to enjoy his semi-retirement. He has been an active supporter of the NAC for many years and is now pleased to have some time to help in the running of the association.
