Lord James Ferrabbee - Honorary General Secretary

The Honorary General Secretary has responsibility for preparing and issuing agendae for all meetings, including the Annual General Meeting.
- Responsibility for taking Minutes of all meetings, prepared and issued to the membership.
- The Honorary General Secretary undertakes ALL official correspondence on behalf of the association, (with exceptions as noted in the responsibilities of the other Officer Roles).
- Advises members on the procedures for application for Charitable Status.
- Advises members on the registration for the Gift Aid Scheme.
- Prepares and submits the associations Annual Returns and reporting procedures to the Charity Commission.

- PERSONAL BIOGRAPHY.
- Grammar School educated, James left school and went straight into the Hotel and Catering Trade where he immersed himself in the world of cooking and the dining experience. Working himself up the ladder James eventually attained his goal of becoming Head Chef in the former Rank Group before changing his career direction and moving into the world of Sales.
- Later on James became involved with the Motor Trade and the Housing/Property Sector both at Company Director level.
- James retired from paid work some years ago from the Motor Trade and now concentrates on the Housing and Property arm of his Companies.
- Since officially retiring James has moved his focus to that of Charity work, both at local and national levels and is heavily involved with them, some as a Trustee and others as a volunteer.
- Nationally, James is currently Chairman of the British Heart Foundation (in his area) and has links with Cancer Research UK all affording him invaluable experience of the Third Sector and the challenges of such a diverse sector, be they with smaller local charities or large national ones.
- Musically James started young with vocal training with the Minster School at Southwell and singing with his local church choir and school choir and musical productions.
- James left music for a while in his adult life whilst finding his feet and making his way, eventually returning 20 years ago to his love for singing where he joined a NAC choir, these days James sings with the Eastwood Collieries’ Male Voice Choir in the Midlands East NAC Group where he has been a member for the last ten year, six of which he has been the Choir General Secretary
- Other interests include steam trains, reading, cookery, the National Trust, English Heritage and the English Countryside.
